I strongly urge you not to consider Marty Moore Photography as your wedding or event photography.
My husband, Mike McHenry, and I hired Marty to shoot our October 7, 2007 wedding at Veritas Winery, a decision we’ve regretted many times over due to her deeply reprehensible and unprofessional conduct.
In our experience, Marty is substantively and procedurally unreliable. She regularly takes anywhere from four days to three weeks to return telephone calls and emails. She also has consistently treated us with snappish disregard. During the process of ordering wedding photos, Mike asked Marty for a firm date as to when we could expect our pictures. Marty’s response was a curt: “We’re working on it. Give us sometime, we just received a bunch of orders.”
On the point of substance, her photos were listless, mediocre and uninspired.
Most recently, Marty failed to include three enlargements we ordered with the wedding album she shipped back in September. An omission we did not realize until early November. Now, despite leaving her one voice message and sending three emails, Marty has failed to address our issue by ceasing communication altogether. She has, however, cashed the $400 check we mailed to cover the album, plus enlargements.
As a print journalist for the last 15 years, my work has allowed me the pleasure of collaborating daily with professional photographers. Not one has ever dreamed of treating personal clients with the lack of respect Marty has shown us. Her seeming inability to juggle multiple clients reflects poorly on her, and –even more conspicuously– on the estimable venues promoting her work, such as Veritas.
If you have any additional questions that you would like to ask either my husband or me, we can be reached at nitajrao@yahoo.com and mmchenry_nyc@yahoo.com. Thank you.
