When photographing children, it’s important to be flexible. I know this from being a mom, and also an experienced photographer. If you are thinking of something that doesn’t quite fit any of these descriptions, then just let me know. I love new ideas, and explorations!
All the photographs will be yours to view in a private online gallery, within one and a half weeks, post-shoot. You will receive a disc with copies of the images for bulk printing, as well as the option to order more quality printing packages through my services.
Basic Session
A 90-minute session, providing you with 60-80 frames. During this shoot we have fun! Being a mom and a photographer, I understand how important this is to getting memorable, beautiful shots. You can expect an assortment of images to be created for you, with a variety of ideas and compositions.
Maternity/Newborn Session
The basic 90-minute session, split into two appointments. You will receive 60-80 frames to choose from.
- One of the most wonderful moments in my life was carrying my child for 9 months. It’s a time to celebrate your strength as a family and a woman. Capture this moment, and carry it with you.
- Take some heart warming, unforgettable images of your newborn child. They’ll never be like this again! This session must be done within the first 2 weeks after birth, when they are sleepy. A sleeping baby is a photogenic baby!
Mini Holiday Session
A 40-minute ‘mini’ session, perfect for capturing a holiday memory. 30-50 frames to choose from. I usually recommend that we focus on 1-2 different looks. If more than two people are in the shot, then I definitely like to go with the “less is more concept.”
Family Montage
This is a unique montage of your family members, put together with care. What I do is very specific, and most of the work is done in post-production. Take a glance to see an example of this work.
Details
Shoots are done on location, and kept within the Charlottesville/Albemarle area. Sessions may be booked for Wednesday/Friday/Sunday afternoon, or Friday/Sunday mornings. In special circumstances, there may be other available slots. We shoot primarily with natural light, so with this the possibility of getting ‘rained out’ increases. To counteract this, we also book a backup date, which is released upon completion of the first.
