The Peace Frogs story, from Julie Currier Arbelaez

At the age of 24, and fresh from a year of travel that took me to Australia, New Zealand and Japan, I opened Peace Frogs Travel/Outfitters in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was the fall of 1993 and the agency was the realization of a dream to encourage everyone, yes everyone, to get out there and see the world. Although initially I relied heavily on the youthful and enthusiastic market of my alma mater, the University of Virginia, it quickly became evident that the entire community would benefit from the services of a young, aggressive agency full of consultants as excited about sending people on trips as traveling themselves.

To this day, the agency specializes in leisure travel- selling mostly discounted international tickets, honeymoons, packages and cruises around the world. Peace Frogs Travel/Outfitters strives to provide the best advice and price on airfare and travel packages, as well as offer a full range of travel accessories, backpacks, luggage and Peace Frogs merchandise. The goal to be a one-stop-travel-shop has truly been achieved.

Designed as a tool to diminish distances, Peace Frogs Travel actively seeks to bring the peoples of the world closer together. The continual promotion of international understanding through a wide range of educational experiences is important to the Peace Frogs Travel philosophy. Since inception, a percentage of all Peace Frogs Travel sales go towards a scholarship to support international study abroad. In addition, the company contributes to local organizations and schools, understanding the importance of supporting a community that has so loyally supported us.

Much of this loyalty is due to the talented and hard-working staff that has been with Peace Frogs Travel/Outfitters for so many years. They’re the ones who fulfill the agency’s ultimate mission- to send you on great trips with the hope that you’ll return rejuvenated, relaxed and possibly more knowledgeable about where you’ve been and where you’re going (and by that I mean, where you’re going…next).
