What does “Lender for Life” mean?

I focus on my clients and business partners. My team’s time and resources are spent making your next real estate finance experience the best you've ever had. We take great pride in building lifelong relationships and operate as a retention company, which allows us to be a referral only company. I rely on our fabulous clients and business partners to help us grow our business.

What kind of financial planning for the home do you do?

My main goal is to have all my clients eventually not need a mortgage. There are ways you can work toward this goal using investment methods and a financial plan. I like to show my clients all their options so they can make the most cost-effective choices for both their short and long term financial goals.

There are so many programs out there. How do I know what to choose? There are thousands of programs available, and it can be overwhelming. That’s why you need to work with a professional who will ask you questions about your financial goals to find the right program for you. Not every program is right for every borrower. I typically go through a consultation process which helps me narrow down programs to two or three that I think will fit your specific needs.

Why should I use a broker instead of a bank?

As a broker, I have access to the thousands of programs mentioned above, which means I can ensure the placement of your loan in the correct program. Banks only have access to a limited portfolio of products and are typically stricter with their lending guidelines. Be careful, however, as most banks and brokers don’t take your entire financial situation and goals into consideration when placing you into a loan program. The truth is, the right loan program can save you tens if not hundreds of thousands over your lifetime.

I work as the Senior Loan Consultant with Greenwood Lending, a family-owned and operated mortgage brokerage. My passion is providing financial planning for your home and being your “Lender for Life”.

I grew up in Nelson County and moved back to Charlottesville after college (Ohio State) and a couple years working in the Washington DC area. My main reason was to join my family’s mortgage business and escape the DC traffic.

My wife and I have a dog and two cats. We enjoy the access to the Blue Ridge for hiking, and the variety of restaurants in the area. One of my favorite restaurants is Shebeen.

Our dog Aegis is the mascot for The Zemon Team at Greenwood Lending, and comes to work with me most days of the week. Just another great thing about living in Charlottesville!

I’m a member of the Elk’s Lodge, play rugby with the Virginia Men’s Club, and recently started competing in sprint triathlons.
